Cristian BODNARESCU

I was always impressed by Bucovina Romanian lands. There prevails a special Romanian tradition and patriotism. Also, I never could understand why they are not included in geographical territory of Romania, if they are Romanian lands by tradition…

I will record the visions of a lady who has been living for 70 years on the earth Bucovina. A true Romanian, spiritual common sense … a beautiful human, in a word.

Ever since childhood I remember Aunt Kish. Ileana Aunt Kish is a jester, soul and prominent chest-n (she likes to gather friends in arms).

Born in 1944 in the village of Suceava county Drâncani, Aunt Kish is invited to this dialogue. Ms. Kish is an anti-PSD and convinced anti-communist!

,, I got married at 17 and gave birth to four children. Life was hard because I had a family premature. I was tired of living with my parents and wanted to leave, so we set our house. I tell now easy, but it was very hard. At school I flail only 3 classes than parents sent us to cattle and sheep, so we went too little at school.

That was our life … It was very hard, but I was afraid of God and shame. I always believed in God!

We were 7 children. Two have died and left five. Life was very hard” remembers Aunt Kish.

Cristian Bodnarescu: Describe the traditional Romanian village habits, in this case Drancani village.

Aunt Kish: At Christmas and flail the priest is comming with Jordan, whack him with the icon and we bear ciralesa. We go at people’s houses and shouted, ”Ciralesa!” There we were given to eat donuts and a cup of wine.

Cristian Bodnarescu: How do you see traditional village life in comparison with present life of Bukovina?

Aunt Kish: Life before was very hard, had  to work much. Life is easier now, but youth will not work. In this regard urge to work, to believe in God and respect their parents!

The people must be honest and not stingy. Superficiality kills the soul.

Cristian Bodnarescu: Thank you for your help.

Aunt Kish: I thank you for what you do!
